I had a DR scenario and had to restore a VM using the Datto solution of copying the .vmdk from the Datto and then recreating a new VM using the .vmdk. I'm speculating that you could manually downgrade the Datto agent, since the issue seems to be with 2.7.1, but if indeed we are getting random updates to the Agent version, the issue may repeat unless Datto does some quick remediation.
