Web1 sep. 2024 · Sample 9KS-6, crystal lithic tuff, was collected from an outcrop of the VRSMF in the Dasuangou forest farm in Kaishantun (Fig. 2 f; GPS location: 42°38′30′′, 129°44′25′′). The sample is gray and exhibits crystal-lithic tuffaceous texture and massive structure ( Fig. 2 g), and is composed of pyroclasts (~65 vol%) and cements (~35 vol%). The material that is expelled in a volcanic eruption can be classified into three types: 1. Volcanic gases, a mixture made mostly of steam, carbon dioxide, and a sulfur compound (either sulfur dioxide, SO2, or hydrogen sulfide, H2S, depending on the temperature)
