WebNoug seed cake and linseed cakes are commonly used as protein supplement in urban and peri-urban animal farming systems around Addis Ahaba, Modjo and Adama (Nazeret) in Ethiopia. There is scarce information on the comparative supplemental value of these protein sources. WebNoug cake was a very high quality cattle feed with a high crude protein (29.5) and a low cell wall (37.6) content. The metabolizable energy and CP supply met only 50 of the maintenance requirement of the livestock. One crossbred cow consumed 1/3 of the total stall-fed DM on-farm, and crossbred cattle consumed more than 2/3 of the feeds.
